A lost seagull

A lost seagull, with wings so strong,

Flew over the sea, all day long,

With every flap, it soared up high,

And watched as the waves danced and sighed.

But as the sun began to set,

The seagull found itself in a fret,

For it had strayed too far from shore,

And now it couldn't fly no more.

Its wings were tired, its eyes were dim,

And in the darkness, it couldn't skim,

The waves that once had brought it joy,

Now seemed like a trap, a cold decoy.

The seagull cried out, with all its might,

Hoping to find a glimmer of light,

But all it heard, was the sound of waves,

And the echo of its own heart, in a daze.

For hours it flew, through the night,

Lost in the darkness, out of sight,

But just as it thought, it would never see,

The light of day, it heard a plea.

A ship in the distance, with lights so bright,

Had heard the seagull's mournful plight,

And sailed towards it, with open arms,

To rescue the bird, from all its harms.

And so the seagull, with wings so strong,

Was saved from a fate, so very wrong,

And as it flew, towards the shore,

It knew that it would fly once more.

For though it had been lost, for a while,

Its spirit was strong, and its heart, a smile,

And in the end, it found its way,

Back to the sea, where it would stay.
